This course aims to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install Vented and Unvented Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards.

Trainees must hold a recognised trade qualification e.g. NVQ/SNVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating, or Domestic Heating, which will include Water Regulations, or be working towards one and hold Water Regulations or have evidence of a number of years experience in the plumbing or heating industry and hold Water Regulations.

This EAL Level 3 award 603/2625/6 has been put together to replace the old City & Guilds 2391 qualification which has now expired. It is an alternative qualification to the City & Guilds 2391-52 electrical course. All the exams and assessments associated with this EAL course are undertaken before you leave the training centre, to give you the best chance of getting the result you deserve.

EAL here are an awarding body, equivalent to City & Guilds. This qualification is recognised by Ofqual and accepted by employers in the industry and the Part P Scheme Providers.

The objective of the EAL Inspection and Testing Course is to give you a good understanding of the theory and practices required to do both a periodic inspection and initial verification, and commissioning of electrical installations. earlier certication; or N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certication; or N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent earlier certication; or Heating installers with minimum 3 years of experience installing wet central heating systems,
evidenced either by manufacturer courses certication or Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, MCS or HETAS registration

This 2 day course is aimed primarily at practicing plumbers and heating engineers who already have an understanding of the fundamental requirements of central heating systems and who wish to design and install energy efficient low temperature hot water heating systems that may use heat pumps as the heat source. 

The qualification enables learners to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to design energy efficient low temperature hot water heating systems within the Building Services Engineering (BSE) sector. The target groups for the qualification are those learners who are: 

• Updating occupational competence, continuous professional development and/or obtaining a licence to practice 

• Preparing for further learning or training and/or developing knowledge and/or skills in a subject area and are existing workers in the occupation seeking to extend their range of work.

This is also a pre-requisite for the 3 day Heat Pump Course.
